Well around here most people don't give way when approaching roundabouts either and also think the on a staggered crossroads that someone who is turning right (but higher up the hill) has priority over the car the opposite way going straight on...so if you follow the code you get smashed. Indicating is the least of your worries.

Oh, and speed bumps are overtaking oppoortunities.
